Behold

This my second foray into acrylic was challenging. The choice of a subject in which I am far less vested, was an attempt to detach myself from entrusted likeness, to focus on texture, mood, balance. Similarly, I worked from memory, to avoid attachment to true likeness. I think the piece served it's purpose in my exploration, and the struggle to balance experimenting with gloss medium and retarder whilst focusing on creating an image that reflected my intent. I continue to work from primary colours, and this I find satisfying. Perhaps a return to deeper meanings will guide me further.
